Aberdeen

Aberdeen University Society

Aberdeen University Liberal Democrats: The society is relatively new, formed in November 2008, one of many incarnations but this one is here to stay thanks to the new and enthusiastic executive. The society supports Aberdeen South, with the executive being heavily involved in PPC John Sleigh’s general election campaign. In the upcoming academic year the society will also be involved with Aberdeen North as a way to introduce freshers to the world of campaigning in their own constituency.

In the past year we have had visits from Malcolm Bruce talking about his role as chair of the international development committee and a pub session with Alistair Carmichael, met Nick Clegg and instigated and been heavily involved in a combating student apathy campaign, raising awareness of the European elections and encouraging people to use their vote wisely.
